A Change We Endorse

Demand Media finally rolled out a significant change to their Work Desk–and unlike most of the previous puffery–this is one which will actually benefit their freelance writers. We fully endorse the ability to save searches. It’s long overdue. If DMS wishes to continue to attract writers, and to retain the ones they have, such writer-friendly changes will need to continue. Demand Studios still sucks, but with these changes today, they suck just a little less.

Introducing: Saved Search! This new feature will help you search for and claim assignments of interest much more efficiently. Read more about it in the forums …

How to Kick Satan's Ass

Site Migration is a Go!!!

Patrick has gone and left town. I think he deserves a good scolding from everyone. He kept old D.H. in the dark about his calendar, and he repeatedly told me that he was committed to spending some time here making DSS a better place. Instead, he flew the coop and left me to try and pick up the pieces.

Patrick did give me all the items I need to change our host over the weekend. I am going to attempt to do it under the cover of darkness. If the site is down or unreachable, assume that is the reason why. Hopefully, we’ll be flying along the Information Superhighway come Monday, and then we can proceed to roll out some of the upgrades and enhancements we have planned over the coming weeks and months.

Yeah, the search is cool but it bugs the crap out of me that hitting “return” won’t engage the search function when I’m not using the saved search feature. Or maybe my browser is fuxt up.

    Flew the coop. Funny.
