Is Demand Still Gaming Google?

Howdy all – sorry for the delay. Been lots of craziness in the Demand Sucks world, but it looks like we have the website back under control. Just so that we all know what the score is, here’s some prices to remind you:

DMD IPO Price 2011: $23.59 Current DMD price 2015: $6.58

Of course, that current price is after a couple of splits, so I’ll leave all the financial mumbo jumbo up to you DSSers or Richard Head if he ever decides to show up again.

Anyway, thanks for all the emails. Here’s a guest post from DSSer “Bob Smith”.

Demand Media Studios was founded on one principle – […]

How to Go Down With the Ship

This email appeared in the mailbag from one of our amigos/amigas south of the border, so I thought I’d pass it along.

Also feel free to rant over in the forums if it helps you feel any better.

I have been working for Demand Studios for about 8 months now. I reside in Mexico and came across the site while looking for translation Jobs online.

Of course, the site doesn’t feature as many options for people liveing outside of the states but I figures I’d give it a try. I got hired and started working on a pay rate […]

Seems Like Old Times

Private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners was interested in pumping some ether into DMD’s moribund carcass. TPTB went to the table and heard them out. Rosenblatt jumped at the opportunity to cash out at 66% of the IPO price as long as it included an opportunity to jump ship. Internet legend Marc Andreessen was asked to evaluate Demand Media’s prospects. He said they stunk. Thomas H. Lee Partners began to backtrack. Negotiations broke down. Demand insiders floated the story to AllThingsD in a classic lemons out of lemonade strategy. […]

Hey kids,

This just came in off the DSS wire.

Thought it was worth passing along.

Just thought you’d be interesting in knowing that TQA is only receiving titles to approve, edit or deny for 1-2 hours a day, when the work used to be continuous.

Of course the mods aren’t saying why (*shocker*) but if no titles come through TQA, none are going down the line to dupe check, title selection and then to writers.

It’s one thing to say there will be less titles, but it’s another to essentially have title selecting shut down.

 This may finally […]

The Adsense

Richard Rosenblatt of Demand Media sweats Ben Bernanke on Twitter. SeoBook’s Aaron Wall delivers an in-depth and engrossing encapsulation of corporate content farming. Time to prove his capabilities as a corporate scion. […]

Analyzed and Pandalized

Analysts of DMD have been wrong so far, but Barclays latest target of $11 agrees with DSS Richard Head. Richard examines the lingering effects of Panda on Demand Media and other content mills and discusses the history of his own analysis of DMD shares. […]
