Marketing & Communications Specialist

Carbonfund.org Foundation, a leading nonprofit provider of climate solutions for individuals and businesses is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist to manage our current and expanding communications priorities.

The candidate will serve our partners writing press releases, newsletters, and blogs; managing our social networking presence on Facebook, Twitter and other media; managing our website, partner web pages, increasing web visits, relevancy and other web initiatives; design marketing materials; and other communications and marketing needs. Carbonfund.org is a high-energy, high-output organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Write 4-5 blogs a week and ensure other staff contribute blogs as well, post blogs on our site and promote them through Facebook, Twitter and other social media
- Create a newsletter twice a month compiling primarily the blogs and distribute to over 30k readers.
- Manage our website, e-certificates, carbon calculators, and utilize SEO to increase our visitors and, ultimately, donors. Manage our Google Adwords grant and Google Analytics and other tools.
- Support our business partners with new web pages, press releases, design and materials
- Develop Carbonfund.org communications materials
- Respond to media inquiries, develop media launches and targeted media
- Develop new initiatives, such as our www.envirosearch.org, site to expand our audience and reach
- Serve other programmatic and administrative functions, particularly related to the website and the donation process


Skills & Experience
- Must be a superb writer, able to write press releases, blogs and newsletter articles and critical communications materials such as one-pagers, web pages, etc.
- Must understand website administration, blogging software, e-newsletter software. Some software we use include: Joomla, XCart and Constant Contact
- Must be proficient in Photoshop
- Knowledge of environmental issues, climate change and carbon credits and offsetting important and an eagerness to learn more a must
- Must be able to handle media requests and inquiries
- Must know SEO, Google Analytics, Google Grants, Google Alerts and other web optimization tools
- Must be proficient with Facebook, Twitter and other social media to leverage our communications and market Carbonfund.org to new audiences to enhance our exposure
- Must be a team player, willing to step in and help with new non-communications tasks
- Must be able to perform at a high-level and meet deadlines

Carbonfund.org is a virtual office. The candidate will work from their home utilizing virtual phones, Skype, Windows Live and other tools to maintain close contact with colleagues and partners. The position is a junior/mid level position. Salary commensurate with experience. Carbonfund.org offers a generous benefits package.
