Copy Editors/Writers - Instructional Materials

Immediate openings for part-time or full-time copy editors and or technical writers/instructional materials developers, for telecommuting work. Our projects consist of writing/editing instructional materials for textbooks aimed at college students and professionals. The books cover a wide range of subject matter including all academic disciplines as well as trade books. Preference given to applicants with background in medicine or electricity/electronics. We have openings for writers and proof-readers.

Requirements and Skill Preferences
All applicants must possess an MA/MS/PhD or equivalent.
All applicants must have teaching experience.
All applicants should have experience in writing instructional materials (lesson plans, testbanks, PowerPoints, etc.).

Work Descriptions

Copy Editors: Review all materials produced by our writers for grammar/usage, content, and formatting.

Writers: Specific instructions and samples/templates will be provided. The instructional materials must be developed in accordance with standards to be defined by Chimborazo Publishing, Inc. and the textbook publisher. Most of the required materials are derived directly from the textbook. Typical materials include any or all of the following items:

a. Instructor Manual: lesson plans, teaching tips, Web links, Discussion topics, etc.

b. PowerPoints: PowerPoint presentations covering all major concepts in the textbook.

c. Testbanks: Broad range of test questions covering all major concepts in the textbook.

d. Solutions Manual: Solutions to end-of-chapter problems.

e. Distance Learning: Develop content for students for distance learning coverage of textbook.

f. Lab manual: Additional projects for students

All materials produced are evaluated according to:



Telecommute: All communications are via email, FTP, or phone. You are responsible for your own time and are not required to report to an office. The manner of work is controlled by you; however, intermediate deadlines and quality standards must be strictly adhered to.
