This position is located in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security's Command Center (DS/CC). The DS/CC is the central point for all threat and incident reporting, both domestically and overseas, and is the single urgent or routine point of contact for DS Special Agents worldwide. The Command Center also prepares and disseminates information products to DS management and to other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies; provides crisis management response and assistance; provides real-time protective and investigative support; and publishes daily, as well as ad hoc, security reports as required.

The editorial staff publishes the DS Daily, a classified intelligence product disseminated daily to the Intelligence Community (IC), the White House, the National Security Council, and Congress, which highlights threats and incidents affecting U.S. interests, both domestically and overseas, as well as foreign dignitaries assigned to or visiting the United States. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and proofreading documents according to established style guides, locating visual elements to support document content, and assisting in the layout of the DS Daily.

This position is also being announced through Merit Promotion
procedures under Announcement #DS-2012-0079. Candidates who wish to
be considered under both Public (US Citizens) and Merit Promotion
procedures must apply to both announcements.
