Joyce's Ulysses is one of those unforgettable reading experiences, yes? The 1967 movie adaptation did not do it justice, although Ulysses is probably unfilmable. The movie gets points for trying.


@ Mr. Busey:

That is extremely cool that you met "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

He was the best thing about Hell Comes to Frog Town, a low-budget B-movie that you have undoubtedly seen, but his work in John Carpenter's They Live is a model for action heroes. Just one great line after another in that crazy satire of the Reagan years. Great bare-knuckled fight scene with Keith David, too.

"I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. And I'm all out of gum."

The aliens in They Live remind me of demand media zombs, only the aliens are smarter. And better looking.
