NAIWE: Worth it?

OK, so I'm thinking about joining an association of writers, and I noticed a website, called the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors. It costs like $100 a year to join, and it promises a lot of free stuff as well as access to resources that would help me develop a better client base. They even offer free certified accounting services for tax purposes.

Here's the website: http://naiwe.com/

Is this just a waste of money, or am I going in the right direction?

A lot of writing organizations have pretty steep dues. $70-$100 or more isn't unheard of, but then again some of them offer some pretty kick-ass benefits. I've thought about joining one or two in the past myself but was ultimately foiled by the fact that I'm a cheapskate. :P

Alright. I'm going to purchase membership there with money from that client I normally use for beer/vodka money :D
