Census Survey -- now what?

An email from Demand:

As the Studio continues to grow and expand, we’re interested in finding out more about the professionals who are currently working with us. That’s what we’re conducting a Studio Census Survey.

This survey is a little different from past surveys you may have taken with DMS. In this case, we aren’t asking for feedback or opinions about your work with the Studio. The goal this time is to gather more demographic and professional information about you, including your personal and professional backgrounds.

Why are we asking for this information? We hope to use this survey to identify specific subsets of our community for potential special projects as the Studio continues to grow.

You can find the survey here:

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this questionnaire for us.

Reading between the lines?

Pimp out all your shitty DMS articles on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ or you'll get canned.

Or maybe this is a way to determine whose skills are useful to DMS and who is just a couponing and boob juice sales expert. If queues are as low as they say, then they might be trying to trim the herd and keep the few people who they consider true "experts".

Another theory could be that DMS is running out of people stupid enough to contract with them, and is therefore desperate for ideas as to who will be their next victim.

Jesus, I can't even believe they're asking this. Well, I can, but you know what I mean.

Fishing for personal social-media information is considered a pretty sketchy and BS tactic when a real employer does it. Giving out this information to a company that you work for as an independent contractor is full on crazy.

I clicked the link and did this survey, even though I don't have permissions. I checked off everything I could. There's a part that asks you to link your blog (if any). I pasted the link to 2 Girls 1 Cup, which I then categorized under "Family and Relationships" and "Food and Drink". Best of luck to the poor bastard who reads that.
