Just submitted a rejection appeal for how to article on a particular calling feature for a particular phone company. Note that he title does not specify a particular model of phone, and this company has HUNDREDS of phones. Unlike every other phone company that has customers dial a star code to turn the feature on and off, this company makes them activate it through the menus on the phone.
The FAQ page on the site directs customers to a web tool where they can look up their phone and find specific directions for their particular handset. So I wrote the article directing the customer to the tool, and how to use it to look up their phone.
Got a rewrite that basically said, "Dur, it doesn't have enough words in it! Go pick out some random phones and give instructions." I sent it back with a note saying that word counts were suggestions only, and since there was no way to know what phone the reader was looking for, it was better to direct them to the tool. The cause given for the reject was one sentence that boils down to "You didn't do what I said!" I thought we weren't supposed to mention products not specifically included in the article title?
Cocksucker. If this one doesn't get overturned, I'm going to be annoyed.
