Oh and hey...he claims the mods can ban, but mods can't ban. Only staff can ban unless they just got new permissions.
Rules of Conduct
The forum is for professionals actively working with the Studio. While Demand Media Studios staff will participate in discussions to provide answers and insight, the forum is also a place for you to gather, discuss and help one another.
We trust you to be courteous, but we must note that we will not tolerate behavior that is disrespectful of others. This includes, but is not limited to personal attacks, threats, name-calling, profanity, or aggressive and hostile behavior against an individual or group.
We require you to maintain a professional tone in your interactions with the rest of the forum community as you would in any office setting. Statements that directly attack your fellow professionals or Demand Media Studios will be reviewed and removed if necessary. Constructive criticism is welcome but hostile or aggressive attacks will not be tolerated. Please note that behavior that violates these rules can result in the loss of your forum permissions.
Post topics in the relevant forum section. The appropriate section should be easy to identify; if it is not, choose one that you think is the most relevant to the topic.
There is a strict ‘no solicitation’ policy in our forum space. All threads soliciting money for personal use, or with promise of donating those funds, will be removed. Any circumstance where money is to change hands is strictly forbidden in our forums.
Spam will not be tolerated. This includes posting the same or similar comments in multiple threads over a short period of time.
Violation of any of these rules can and will result in the loss of forum permissions. While the Studio Staff always aims to give you a warning before removing forum permissions, in certain cases your permissions may be removed without warning if the situation merits.
Moderation
Demand Media Studios reserves the right to moderate all discussions and the participation within the forums. Although we hope to do this as little as possible, we will close discussions that become too heated, delete discussions that are irrelevant or inappropriate and remove forum permissions if you consistently violate forum standards of conduct. Users can be banned from posting on either a temporary or permanent basis at the discretion of the Studio Staff.
Community Moderators appointed by Studio Staff will help moderate, field questions, and address community concerns in our forums. They been chosen based on their experience, knowledge and willingness to help enforce Demand Media Studios’ forum policies and procedures. Moderators are in regular contact with Studio Staff and will escalate issues as needed. They have permission to close discussions, remove threads and ban users when necessary.
If a Community Moderator notices a forum thread is taking a bad turn they will first step in and remind users of forum policy and ask people to kindly get back on track. If this does not prove effective, they will issue a second warning. After the second warning, if behavior doesn’t change, they will close the thread. If a moderator closes a thread, new threads on the same topic are not allowed to be opened.
Community Moderators will bubble up and alert Studio Staff to any major trends or issues they see in the forums. Studio Staff will look into each issue and act accordingly.
